Recent research in the field of creative problem solving reveals our communication style -- the ways we interact with others in collaborative settings -- is directly linked to our creative thinking style. And much of our behavior, especially under creative tension, sends conflicting signals to teammates. What if our creative energy is being misinterpreted when we collaborate? How do we harness the untapped creative potential resident in our teams if we don’t recognize what each other is really trying to say?
What will you learn or experience as a result of this program or session?- In this highly interactive session, we will explore the four Social Styles: learned behaviors rooted in a desire to approach challenges in specific and creative ways.
How might the content of this program or session change your perceptions, habits, ways of working, or view on the world?- We will uncover the specific types of conflict that are helpful or toxic to group creativity, and how our social styles enhance or derail effective collaboration.
- We will act out common scenarios to deconstruct how our communication styles can either hinder or bring out the creative best in your team.
How might you apply what you learn or experience in this program or session?- Come prepared to learn how to improvise, flex your habitual communication styles, and share your own insights to fuel collaborative breakthroughs.
