The foundation of CPSI is the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) process. In this engaging session, you will learn the core tenets and the 4 stages of CPS that can take you from clarifying a problem to a plan for implementation. The session will include an interactive run-through of the 4 stages on a personal problem and brief discussion of the key drivers of CPS.

  • An interactive run thru of the 4 stages of CPS on a personal or work challenge
  • Discussion of Key CPS Drivers - Praise first; Divergent & Convergent thinking; Frame problems as a question; Building strong solutions; Powerful action planning

  • Recognize that wild and unusual creativity can be harnessed to serve a powerful problem solving process
  • Recognize that we all have creativity and it can be practiced and improved upon like any other skill

  • The Fast-CPS template supplied can be used to work on personal and work challenges
  • Exposure to the CPS process will demonstrate the value of being flexible and more tolerant of ambiguity
  • You may want to dive deeper into learning more about deliberate creativity as a critical thinking tool
