Ally has been lucky enough to teach everything from composition to first-year students at the University of Illinois at Chicago to GED and writing courses to adults in an alternative high school. Her current role connects her to Kindergarten-8th grade classrooms throughout Chicago to teach an invention curriculum to educators as part of the Chicago Student Invention Convention. The phrase from the Harry Potter series, "when in doubt, go to the library!" is the most accurate description of Allison in both a literal sense, as she is more often than not on her way to or from a library, but also in a figurative sense, in that she is excited to learn new things and approach interactions as opportunities to see life from a new perspective. Allison has a passion for poetry and delights in reading and writing poems. She also loves taking improv classes, and while still very new to the form, she feels like she has found her people. Her favorite thing about CPSI is the reminder that creativity thrives in different professions, fields, and facets of life. Ally is looking forward to meeting new people who are similarly inspired by all that CPSI has to offer.
